Gajon Green Room is a second take on the subject of my feature-length documentary, Gautam & Buddha. The film tells the story of two cross-dressing gay actors in a traveling theater in rural India. In the film, the actors' dressing room (a.k.a. "green room") is a key location. It is a temporary structure made with bamboo and the repurposed fabric of fertilizer bags. Curious villagers (both queer and straight) intrude into the room. For an exhibition of video-art in Basel, I reconstructed the dressing room with this fabric, and projected the film's dressing room scene inside it. I tempted the installation's audience to intrude into the space to involuntarily complete the reconstruction.
